Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.58% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which rose 7.86% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.21 at the close. Meanwhile, National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) added 3.83% or 0.29 points to end at 7.75 and HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) was up 3.41% or 0.24 points to 7.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr), which fell 1.85% or 0.17 points to trade at 9.00 at the close. Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) declined 1.81% or 0.62 points to end at 33.62 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was down 1.19% or 0.07 points to 5.83.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 77 to 37 and 25 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.17% or 31.16 to $2,690.76 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.22% or 1.49 to hit $68.69 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.90% or 1.35 to trade at $72.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 105.53.
